    2. There appear to be no connections with these lines (at any point) to the Socastee and Orangeburg Creed Lines - who are but poorly represented in the Project. Richard and All, Sadly, the CREED surname, as a whole, is poorly represented in the DNA Project. I would love to see several more lines represented. And, if we have one person already representing a line, we can have others represents the same line. If you are a male with the CREED Surname, please consider joining the study. Also, if you can't participate yourself, encourage someone else who meets the criteria to participate. We have a group rate. Or you may wish to participate financially. We can contribute toward the cost of someone else having the tests done or we can help pay to have someone's tests upgraded to another level. 1. Re: [CREED] Missouri Creeds
    2. Thank you - I was pretty well copacetic with this until I saw the 29 June 1880 entry - 4th up from the bottom that refers to "SC" now I know these things are sort of like surveys we take - sometimes the answers are a little off, or the person preparing the schedule, or the person who later transcribed it - all have lots of room for error - but the "SC" answer is intriguing. I guess, without any reason to suspect "SC" is correct - we would have to assume it is an error of some sort. Other than his name, there appears no reason to suspect he has any connection to SC. So what I conclude are the correct answers to my questions which I will try to record somehow in my notes: 1. The Clinton County Missouri Creeds at the given dates are known and documented to be of descent from KY and prior ultimately Surry Co. and are represented in the Project. 2. The Harris County Georgia Creeds at the given dates are known and documented to be of descent from Surry Co. and are represented in the Project. There appear to be no connections with these lines (at any point) to the Socastee and Orangeburg Creed Lines - who are but poorly represented in the Project. Thank you - Richard S. Creed is probably a son of Augustin and his wife Rosamond Cowherd. James Marion Creed died 9 April 1894 at Mecca, Hardin township, Clinton County, Missouri. We have one member of our Creed DNA Project who is a descendant of Elijah Creed Sr. who has participated in the Creed DNA Project. He is an exact match for a descendant of Matthew Creed Sr. from Surry Co NC. A third participant is a descendant of Bennett Creed Sr., also from Surry Co NC. He is a match, also. Although we don't know who the common ancestors was, we do know these three lines descend from the same male ancestor. Hope this helps. I am sure someone else knows more about the Augustin Creed family. Nyla in particular - the Lady i mentioned to you near Thomasville, Georgia - a cousin of mine and Woodrow Boyett's line, Sarah Godwin, has forwarded to me a slave census of 1860 which shows (among others): J.M. Creed of Hardin, Clinton, Missouri J.M.
