    3. This is just to let you know the RootsWeb mailing lists are functioning again. You may now post any questions you may have been sitting on while they were not. The Archives are being re-populated, but due to their size, it is going to take some time to complete. This post should initiate that process. For detailed information on working with the new list software, see <http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/listindexes/listsHelp>

    1. [CREASEY] KUYKENDALL - CREASEY Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Rhoda KUYKENDALL and her husband Lo HOLMES which was taken at the H. T. Biel Studio in Terre Haute, IN. The photograph was taken in the early 1900's with the couple appearing to be in their 30's at the time. In addition Rhoda is noted as the sister of Charles KUYKENDALL and "Dad's Sister". Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this couple: Rhoda May KUYKENDALL was b. 18 Nov 1871 in Dennison, IL to parents John KUYKENDALL (1844-1922) and Eliza Ellen NEWELL (b. 1850). Rhoda was one of 9 children born to this couple including, George W.; Sarah Elizabeth; Rhoda May; Cora I.; Charles Ezra; John Pleasant; Clarence Leonard; Mary L.; and Clifford Owen KUYKENDALL, all born between 1869 and 1890. Rhoda married Lorenzo "Low" Dow CHERRYHOLMES or HOLMES and they had one child, a son, Estel or Estal Vere HOLMES (1893-1963). Rhoda died 11 Sept 1932 in Dennison, IL and was buried in the Ferris Cemetery. At the time of her death her brother Charles was living in West Terre Haute, IN; brother John was in Harrisburg, IL; and Clifford was in Marshall, IL, with the others in Dennison, IL. Sisters listed in her obit included, Mrs. Sarah SURVER and Mrs. Mary CREASEY both of West Terre Haute, IN. I am hoping to locate someone from their family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [CREASEY] UK, Edward Creasey- married to Minnie Matilda Canfield

Author: juliew77 Surnames: Creasey, Canfield Classification: lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.creasey/124/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, I'm having trouble identifying which Edward Creasey married 1888 Bromley to Minnie Matilda Canfield. On the Census 1901 and 1911 he is just Edward and no middle name. Born -1960/1970 in either Lingfield or East Grinstead, Died approx 1931 at East Grinstead ??. Minnie b-1869 Oxted, Died-1954 Uckfield. Minnie had daughter Henrietta Harriet (Canfield 1887- ,who married in 1910 to Camp)before Edward and Minnie married think to another man hence the use of her maiden name. Think they had just 9 children together- George Henry Edward 1890-1906, Herbert Frederick 1893-1963 married 1915 Alice M. (Stuart), Minnie Elizabeth 1895-1974 married 1917 Woodman, Ernest William 1897-1972, Harry Harold 1901-1965 married 1921 Dorothy N. (Tooth),Edith Mary 1903-1976 married 1924 Frederick George King, Edward (Ted)1908- married 1930 Beatrice A. (Tooth), Stanley 1912-1992 married 1934 Helen T. (Coyle), My Grandfather was 3rd last, Sidney 1905-1977 married 1939 Elsie Rose (Colquhoun)in Australi! a. On their marriage cert. it has his father as just Edward. My problem is there are hints with name variations. Edward/ Edward James/ Edward Thomas, all having birthdates close to 1969/1970 in the above locations. Not sure which way to go because each Edward has different parents. Not sure if he was being lazy and not filling in forms with his middle name or just doesnt have one. Please Help me. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: kazbat Surnames: CREASEY Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.creasey/122/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Born in 1900 in Sibton, Suffolk, England, the above named is/was my Great-Uncle. Family members (his nephews/nieces) tell me he emigrated in the 1920s and was never heard of in England again. As for where he emigrated to, and when, no-one can recall. :-( One of my aunts (one of the above mentioned nieces) vaguely recalled Australia being a possible destination for her Uncle Johnnie, but I can find no records of him emigrating on any of the passenger lists available on Ancestry, none of him re-entering the UK (for any reason), and none of his death in the UK, under the name of Samuel Creasey. I did find records, however, of a John Creasey on the passenger lists, with a date of birth one year earlier than his actually date of birth. I'm wondering whether this might be him... but I feel it would be wrong to just add this information to his record with nothing to substantiate it. Is there any other place I can look that might hold records for him under either name - Samuel or John? Can anyone please help me out? Suggestions? Pointers? I realise that, if someone changes their name, it can be extremely hard (if not nigh on impossible) to find them, but I'm hoping I've simply missed something, some records, and am living in hope that someone out there will find him for me. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. 3. Caleb Creasey was born in 1744 somewhere in New Hampshire and migrated to Maine somewhere around 1790.  He bought land in Mt Vernon, Kennebec County, Maine and settled.  He brought his first wife Mary ----- and she died there then he married Joanna ----- and she is also buried there.  They are all buried in the Bean Cemetery in Mt Vernon. Caleb died in 1846.  The family Bible states this and that he came from New Hampshire.  But I cannot find out where in NH he came from.  Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.  Mary Ellen Aube
