    1. John Crawford of Londonderry
    2. Andrew Crawford
    3. I am looking to connect John Crawford who came to Rutland Ma about 1718 from Londonderry. The possible connection is: Alexander Crawford (of Killybegs) Alexander being the younger son of Malcolm Crawford (of Kilbirnie) sometime after his father's death in 1595 he removed along with many friends and relatives to the County of Donegal (known as the Portlough Patent) that was organized by the Duke of Lennox, Ludovic Stuart ) in northern Ireland, a part of "The Colonization of Ulster", in 1610. He became the owner of a ship, trading goods between Ireland and Scotland (with his uncle Sir John Cunningham and his cousins ?) Alexander married a Miss Critchton, of the Dumfries Critchtons. His oldest son was Alexander. The second son was John, who married Abigail Hamilton, sister of Captain John Hamilton of Shannon in the parish of Lifford. John settled in the parish of Clandermoyd (now Glendermot, in Londonderry). He died July 12, 1661 and was succeeded by his son John. Robert, the third son of Alexander was born about 1625. A daughter Janet was born next. Lawrence, the forth son, moved into the adjoining county of Fermanagh in the town of Cavancarragh. The fifth son was James, who lived in the parish of Drumholm and died in 1698. The sixth son was David of Drumholm who died in 1702. -- Andrew Crawford, 2785 IOE Dept., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 734 764-9410, Ascott Corp 734 663-2023 http://ascott.com/
