A Jane CRAWFORD married Charles GRINNELL abt 1807 in Bainbridge, Chenango, NY. He had married first Sally STOWELL, daughter of Hezekiah STOWELL and Hepzibah Persis RICE. Jane CRAWFORD GRINNELL died in Wellsboro, Tioga Co. PA in 1862. Was she living with Crawford or Stowell relatives? There appear to be several CRAWFORDs in Tioga Co. PA. including a Henry, Joseph and Samuel. Are they related to the NY CRAWFORDs and STOWELLs? A number of siblings of my relative Persis CRAWFORD appear to have disappeared from Chenango Co. NY about 1820-30 and I have not been able to locate them (made more difficult without knowing the given names of several of them). I hope to prove whether or not Jane CRAWFORD is the daughter of Persis STOWELL and JOHN CRAWFORD (my ggg grandparents); also trying to determine the origin of John CRAWFORD who might have come from Guilford, VT area with the STOWELLS to Bainbridge, Chenango NY in 1786.
