I have searched for years for the place of marriage on my Grandfather wha was James Crofford born 8 Feb 1853 in Indiana. He died 6 April, 1917 in Dallas County, Arkansas. Someone submitted the marriage to Florence Rebecca Hammond in Cleveland County but I could never find a recording. As it turned out the marriage took place in Dallas County and it was among 122 marriage license that were never recorded. The marriage license were taken from the court house when they were going to burn them. I contacted the person that had the license and she sent me a ccpy. The only way that I came across this information was a man published a book of marriages in Dallas County Arkansas and listed the ones never recorded in the back of the book. He got his information from the History Commission in Little Rock Arkansas. So I do think some information no matter what is better than no info at all. Max
