Charlotte Ramsay <cramsay1@aol.com> I discovered that my great-great-great-grandparents were buried in the Welch Plantation Cemetery in Copiah County, Mississippi. I posted a query on the Copiah County query board and received an e-mail from Bob CRAWFORD, new host for Copiah County, asking if I had any connections to a Caroline CRAWFORD WELCH, daughter of James Clausen CRAWFORD. I told him yes, my great-great-great -uncle had married Caroline CRAWFORD WELCH. Caroline is Bob's great-great-great-aunt and he had been corresponding with a WELCH who had a lot of family information. Bob gave me his name and address and, because I have an uncle living in a nearby town to him, I called this uncle and gave him the information. My uncle gave him a call and went to visit him. We discovered this WELCH is the cousin of my grandfather, deceased in 1986, their fathers being brothers. He and my uncle have become friends and visit in person, on the phone, and by mail. This cousin, 92 years young, has told my uncle stories of our family and has given him many original pictures of our ancestors. If it were not for Bob Crawford and RootsWeb we would have never heard these wonderful stories or seen these great pictures of our ancestors. This has meant so much to all our family and we cannot thank you enough. RootsWeb opens doors that otherwise would remain closed forever.
