Jim, I'm familiar with this Crawford Cemetery. It is located in South Palmyra Twp, Macoupin County, IL, just across the road from the home where William Oscar Crawford's grandfather, Joseph Crawford lived in South Otter Twp. William Oscar Crawford died in 1954 and was buried in Union Chapel Cemetery in North Otter Twp. William's father, James Milton Crawford (my great grandfather), died 16 April 1930 and was buried in the Crawford Cemetery. Let me know how I might help. I was reading a detailed obit from 1930 where they referenced the above. Deceased was one William O. Crawford and two of the listed pall bearers, identified as nephews, had the same names as individuals in my family. >-----Original Message----- >From: JDBulla <JDBulla@lanset.com> >To: CRAWFORD-L@rootsweb.com <CRAWFORD-L@rootsweb.com> >Date: Sunday, October 31, 1999 11:12 AM >Subject: Herbert Hoover tie-in > > >Hi, > >I'm helping my cousin in his research on the Crawford side of the family. It's pretty much a black hole as far as family history. ONLY thing I know is that the family had some connection with Iowa, and that my maternal grandmother, Verna Shaw (nee Crawford), was allegedly a distant cousin of Herbert Hoover. Hope someone has more info on this. > >Thanks, > > >JimB > >
