I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the FYFE or FYFFE - WATTERS Family of Indiana. The first is a photograph of Andrew FYFE which was taken at the Holloway Studio in Terre Haute, IN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Andrew likely in his 20's at the time. Someone has also written "Uncle" on the back of the photograph. The second photograph is of Belle WATTERS FYFFE (spelled with two ff's on this photo) which was taken at the Bundy Studio in Terre Haute. This too was likely taken in the early 1900's with Belle appearing to be in her 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. She is also identified as "Aunt" on the back of the photograph. Andrew FYFE was b. 5 or 25 Dec 1881 in Knightsville, IN to parents Robert FYFE (1841-1925) and Margaret COOK (1844-1901). Andrew was one of 11 children born to this couple including, Margaret Sharp; Robert; Janet Henderson; Robert C. Sr.; Jennette; Thomas Edward; Andrew; John; Ann; James; and Edward FYFE, all born between 1865 and 1887. Mary Belle WATTERS was b. 14 Jul 1882 in Genoa, IL to parents George L. WATTERS (1847-1934) and Mary E. YELEY (1858-1892). Mary Belle and Andrew FYFE married on 22 Oct 1905 in Vigo Co. IN and together they had a son George Watters FYFE (b. 3 Aug 1910 in West Terre Haute, IN-1980) and one other child. Andrew died 1 Mar 1945 in Terre Haute, IN and Mary Belle died in Indiana in 1951. Their son George married Mayme Jane SHAVER (b. 29 Mar 1913 in Louisville, KY to parents Preston CRAWFORD and Ida SHIELDS) on 25 Dec 1938 in Vigo Co. IN. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. I am not sure if any of my Scots Crawfords ended up in America........ but I have Crawford/Fifes (whatever spelling, depending on the time period) in Stirlingshire and also in Perthshire.
