Jim, The elusive William Harrison Crawford, born June 1874 according to the 1900 census. I have the birth record of his first child stating that William was born in Saginaw MI. He married Alice Bell Curry from Twin Lake MI in Ishpeming, Marquette Co. in 1898. I had the marriage looked up once and it showed his middle initial as something other than "H". I lost the lookup data in a hard drive failure and have been reluctant to request it again just because I didn't keep a backup (I do better with that now.) Alice and William lived in Negaunee, Marquette Co. and had 2 children there. Alice was back in Twin Lake by 1910 with her 2 children, listing herself as either divorced or widowed, depending on the paperwork you are looking at. She was remarried in 1913. Family story is that William was a violent alcoholic and that was the reason Alice left him. From there, the story has many different variations, some much more thrilling than others. Either way, I guess there was no further contact once they split. I know no more about him than Name, Age, and supposed birthplace. There seem to be several William Crawfords in that area very near the same age in the 1880's, so it is hard to determine which he is.
