I don't know these people nor am I related that I know of. But if I were to guess your Crawford and Calder (Colyer, Caljer?) may be from Orange Co NY or maybe Delaware Co. Prior 1800 you'd look at Ulster Co, from which those specific areas were formed. The same applies if the surname is actually Calder, a somewhat unique surname, add in Dutchess County. I've found McCoy alternately as McKey, McKay &c. If your Nelson Crawford was the one at Lindley in Steuben, NY 1850 then chances are very good they were part of a migration from Delaware Co. http://www.dcnyhistory.org/ > Date: Sun, 18 Feb 2007 10:35:24 EST > From: [email protected] > Subject: [CRAWFORD] Nelson CRAWFORD ca.(1805-1879) NewYorkState > > Anyone else searching for this branch of CRAWFORDS? > Looking for the ancestor's and siblings of Nelson CRAWFORD ca.(1805-1879) > who was married to Keziah CALDER ca.(1823-1899).
