    3. Shortly after 1800 Mathias Crawford moved to PA. I'd like to hear from any with MD Crawfords in that era, particularly from Frederick County. I've been able to learn only little about the family there. A David, or I'm thinking David Jr, along with some other names that may be siblings or his wife & children, are found sometimes named in litigation, and David may have raced, bought & sold, horses. 1790 census that county enumerated David, David Junr, Elias, 3 James, 3 Johns, and 2 Moses Crawford. 1800 had 2 Davids at Emmitsburg, Jonas & Mathias at Liberty, James, Moses & Robert at Westminster towns. It appears families had begun emigrating out before 1800. A rootsweb tree that existed years back named Jonas as Mathias' father, and David as his father, and that David was the immigrant, disembarked at Philadelphia. The tree owner never responded to any of my emails. In reconstruction, Mathias was born about 1765; Jonas abt 1738-1800, a wife was Catharine. This would make Jonas' father "David" born about 1710-ish Scotland. David's wife shown on that undocumented online tree was Jane Douglas. Any & all help, cues, clues, hints & discussions invited to email me or post here! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting?
