Hi all, No, Moses Crawford is not a common name, but a relation of mine (a 5th great uncle actually) of that name (born 24th Jan 1715 in Dunfermline) migrated to the USA from Dunfermline in Scotland at about 1748, along with his wife and son David (born 8th Jan 1747 in Dunfermline also). If anybody across the water can plug into this, I can then provide the family tree from there to today in Scotland, via Brighton, India, Annan in Scotland and Kent in England. Any takers? On another issue, 1820 census at Fairfield Co OH lists Joshua, Moses, Jacob, James, Robt, Samuel. Some of those names are seen 1790-1810 Frederick Co MD, by 1820 only Samuel remained. I have NO idea if they may be related. Moses in particular wasn't a common given name. One surprised me being in Westmoreland Co PA 1800 (where my MD-born Mathias relocated about 1801) then for a couple decades in IN Co PA which was cut off old Westmoreland. > Date: Mon, 12 Feb 2007 23:31:12 -0600 > From: "Mary Stockton" <[email protected]> > Subject: [CRAWFORD] MD + PA > OH > IN > IA Crawfords > > Hi all, I'm looking for my gggrandparents.
