    3. I have a pretty good accounting for the family of my gt.gt. grand father, Robert Crawford. He was born somewhere in Ohio in !809, appears in the records in Covington ,Ind. in 1833 to register his marriage to Mary Hare(?). He and Mary lived in the area along the Ill.-Ind. border producing 13 children between the early 1830s and the late 1850s. My g. grandfather, Franklin W. Crawford was the 11th of this prodigious brood Beyond 1809 Robert the trail gets a little more tenuous. The father of 1809 Robert is also supposed to be a Robert, allegedly born in Pa. and married to a woman named Elizabeth. I have the names of some of 1809 Roberts siblings but I'm not as confidant of the accuracy. Whoever compiled the original genealogy of this branch tried to connect this in a direct line to Col. Wm Crawford who was burned at the stake in the vicinity of Sandusky, Oh.. in 1782. There is no direct connection between my line and the Col., but the possibility of a collateral connection is arguable. If this sounds like a connection to your line, let me know and I'll send you all the other tidbits in my possession. There are certainly a hell of a lot of Wms. and Roberts roaming the frontier at that time Fraternally yours, Dick Crawford ----- Original Message ----- From: "Al Crawford" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 09, 2007 4:08 PM Subject: [CRAWFORD] Pa to Ohio > The list is hot now so maybe I'll find someone else who is following the > Crawfords who left Pa around the mid 1800's and settled in and around > Findlay, Oh. > Many, many Robert's, Johns and William's. > > "Point Place, Ohio" > The Best Place Anyplace > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
