    3. Katherine, I'm not familiar with Family Origins, but do use FTM ver. 6.0. This is the very simple method I use to create a file (GEDCOM, or other) to send a specific line to someone: Create an "Outline Descendant Tree" on your screen (from the "View" Menu), beginning with your earliest known ancestor. From there, go to the "File" menu & click on "Copy/Export Family File". When the "New Family File" window comes up, you can tell it where you want to create the file (in FTM, or on a disk), and in what format (i.e., GEDCOM). Think this would probably be simpler than trying to delete people from a file.
