Hello all, happy new year! Once again I have hit the wall and need your help. My great great-grandfather, was James D. Crawford born abt 1839 possibly in Virginia. At some point he met Temperance Ann Surber, and on 12-24-1854 in Claiborne Co., TN they married. In the 1860 Census of Claiborne Co., TN it shows James and Temperance and three children Abigail Jane, John C., and Samuel who was born in 1860. Does anyone have access to the 1870, and 1880 census? I need to find out where James D. Crawford was born, and where and when he died, our family "legend" is he died in the Civil War. It is as if he dropped down from the sky then disappeared again. John C. Crawford went on to marry Chloe Deliah Moyers of Claiborne Co., they had 2 children one was Rachel Crawford, who married William Jasper Jones. They are my grandparents.
