I think this is a very good idea, Nancy. However, I have no known male line at all, can't even locate my gggrandmother Zillah Ann Crawford born 12/1822 in Al or TN, married Pinckney W. Owen(s) believed before 10/1837 in Texas. Zillah Ann (Zilley or Zealla) may be Cherokee or Half, her father MAY be John and Zilliah could be a nickname????? I have no information for her until she married P.W. Owen near where Houston is now. She & P.W. received a second class land grant of 1280 Acres from Republic of Texas, they later were in Walker Co for a time, then sold the land grant for $100.00 and purchased a farm in Limestone Co TX where they raised 10 children, some of whom were born in Walker Co. P.W. went to Civil War, returned home unwell and died before 1870 census. Zillah died about 1877, date not sure either. I wish someone connected to this family. Surely she was not hatched alone.... I hope ypour plea for Crawford male descendants is a sucess, Thanks Wanda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy van Morkhoven" <[email protected]> . >I suggest we post our line and if a living male Crawford seems to have to > tie into your line then those of us who have no candidate help pay for his > testing. > Have done this on other lines and been pleased with the findings. > My last male Crawford is: > > Archibald Crawford > b. 9 Mar 1772, Culpepper County, Virginia > d. 17 Mar 1866, Breathitt County, Ky. > & Margaret Brown > b. 6 Jan 1789, Madison County, Kentucky > d. 1852, Breathitt Co., Ky > I have many generations before that, all well documented. > > Nancy >
