Sorry ,I couldn't get back sooner. .Botetourt was formed from Augusta but a lot of counties were formed out of Botetourt.I have checked some of those.The Hewetts were shown as living in Botetourt also but I am not sure which Hewett was Marys father. Fincastle,Virginia in Botetourt County encompassed at least five states.Kentucky was one of them and probably some the Crawfords who were in Fincastle( Botetourt) in the early 1770's ended up in Kentucky after it was formed.
