There seems to be a lot of searching going on for Crawfords from Virginia and south, but I have yet to see anything from Crawfords in New York, particularly the New York City area, Brooklyn. Maybe New Yorkers aren't into genealogy??? Specifically, I'm trying to find info on the ancestors of my great grandfather, John Joseph Crawford b. 16 Aug 1870. As of June 1900, he lived at 13 Gunther Place, Brooklyn, NY. John married Mary "Minnnie" Neill from Ireland; had 6 children: Lester Joseph (my grandfather), George Francis Joseph, Mable, Edna, John Henry, and Florence "Sissy". John Joseph Crawford had a brother, William (b. Jul 1861) who lived at 1840 Broadway, Brooklyn; m. Mary (?); had 4 children, Thomas, Marcella, Benjamin and Eugene; Thomas and Eugene both became Catholic priests. Also had a sister Elizabeth, but no info on her. I have information on Mary Neil going back several generations in Ireland including Milligan and Moffat individuals that I could provide to anyone searching those lines, but what I'm really interested in is the main Crawford line.
