Richard, I too am trying to an NY Crawford. Contrainine (many spellings on this first name) F. Crawford b. 9 Oct 1844 in Batavia/Lewiston, N.Y. He married "Nellie" Alvah Ellis also from N. Y. I believe they married in Michigan. They had two sons and spent they remainder of their lives in Michigan. Contrainine's parents were Edward Crawford and Emeline Reynolds. Char.
