Yes, what has happened is amazing and I certainly never expected it to be successful. As I indicated, the experience did leave a bad taste in my mouth for alerting folks to anything similar in the future. Several Crawford descendants or interested people acted very badly, which caused problems for the cousin of mine who arranged our tour of Tusculum. He never expected what hit him. He owned a business in Amherst, as did the owner of Tusculum. It strained their friendship. The next time, if there should ever be a next time, I plan to keep my mouth shut. In this case, the damage is done, so I say let's move forward. I, too, would like to attend, but I will probably be in Oregon on business. Bob, I am just checking my e-mail after being awary a few weeks and don't know what this is about. I'm so sorry. I'm going to Sweet Briar Homecoming in a few weeks and there will be a session on Tusculum that I will attend. It might help me to know what happened. I'm very interested in encouraging people to contribute to the restoration of Tuscululm at Sweet Brian. It makes me sad that there was some unhappy business about it. Could you fill me in? I may not have reached a previous e-mail that discusses it, so no hurry with your response. I'm still checking e-mails. Thanks, Marian Harrison [email protected] wrote: Yes, what has happened is amazing and I certainly never expected it to be successful. I also hate what happened, I did not see the letters, so I wonder if they were as bad as they were said to be or if someone over reacted and treated our local relatives badly. But, I have to say that the good that we got done far outweights the bad. If you had not spoken up, the house would have been lost and that would have been a tragedy of hugh proportions! We all thank you so much for saying something, I did not even know about the house until you said something.
