The White Mountains are in New Hampshire. Vermont has the Green Mountains. This family originated in Ireland, came to Boston, then to Union, Connecticut. While many stayed in Union, CT, some descendents moved to Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. The author of this book married into that part of the family that went to New Hampshire. Crawford Notch, in the White Mountains in northern New Hampshire is named after this family.
