    3. Wouldn't you know it!! I win, but the wrong prize. One of these other lucky folk can have it as my Crawford family came down early to Mississippi/Arkansas/Texas and never went back east. Thank you so much for posting about the book and giving all of us a chance at a little excitement, but I would not keep a legitimate descendant from getting that book. 3. Mimi, I read with interest that your ancestors came through Mississippi to Texas and never went back East. I have been looking for my Crawford ancestors for many years with very little results. My great-grandfather was T. O. Crawford, b. about. 1842 in Illinois and he married Sarah (unknown), born abt. 1856, in Mississippi. I first find this family in the 1880 census of Smith County, Texas listing four children....William A., Charlie, Thomas and Mary. I am convinced the son Thomas is my grandfather and his middle name is O'Neal. I've been successful researching the 1st son, William A. Crawford and also a little on 2nd son Charlie. If any of this rings a bell please contact me. Pat (Crawford) McKnight A family tree can wither if no one tends it's roots.......... ----- Original Message ----- From: "mimi" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2007 1:10 PM Subject: Re: [CRAWFORD] Lucy Crawford Book > Wouldn't you know it!! 3. My Mississippians were in Fulton, Itawamba County. The names you mention are not in my files. My first known Crawfords were Thomas b. 1784 in Va. m. Jenny James b. 1780 in SC. Both died circa 1860 in Fulton, Mississippi. One of their sons, Moses, b. bef 1816 in SC m. Mary Reed b. 1824 in Alabama were my great great grandparents. One of their sons, James Monroe, b.11 Aug 1846 in Fulton m. 1st unknown, m. 2nd Nancy Riggs b. 17 Jul 1838, Alabama, were my great grandparents. James Monroe died in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas in 1913 and I don't know what happened next to Nancy Riggs. Their daughter, Rose Lee was my grandmother (mothers' mother). Sorry I can't help you, but if "anyone out there" reads this and can add to my knowledge of my ancestors, I'd really appreciate it. Love, Mimi Be careful trying to connect to my family tree. I dig and dig for roots, but only find a handful of nuts. ----- Original Message ----- From: Pat McKnight To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2007 1:41 PM Subject: Re: [CRAWFORD] Lucy Crawford Book Mimi, I read with interest that your ancestors came through Mississippi to Texas and never went back East.
