    3. Sharon....my ancestors were found in Illinois in the 1850 census. They came from Ireland, but I think they came through Ireland from Scotland. The original immigrants I've found ( I think?) was David and Mary Crawford. 3. I rather believe that my Crawford family is part of your Crawford, as my family also came from Ireland, Scotland to England or visa versa. My family finally settled in Pike County Illinois. I had a David and Mary Crawford, Robert, John, James, Thomas, Mary, etc. Robert Senior born in 1744 near Edinburgh, Scotland, migrated from Edinburgh to Frithville, England. The original family that left Ireland to England to America was Robert Snr. I have the names of all the Crawfords that you have mentioned in this email as well as their families. Robert Crawford born in 1857 in Pike County, IL. was my Grandfather. 3. My Crawfords are in Virginia (later West Virginia) in the late 1700s. We believe the earliest immigrant to be John Dennis Crawford, born c. 1760, probably Ireland. But it's possible he was born Scotland and came through Ireland, like yours. I'm not sure my Crawford line would do you any good, unless you have any info on relatives of your line that stayed in/went to Virginia.
