LADSON - Mrs. Brenda Faye Crawford, 64, of Ladson, SC, wife of Charles Kenneth Crawford, passed away on March 27, 2013, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11 o'clock AM at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Ladson. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her honor to Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, 119 Barnhill Road, Ladson, SC 29456. Mrs. Crawford was born on January 14, 1949, in Florence, SC daughter of the late Afton Smith and Valerie Grey Smith. She was a retired secretary and an active member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Ladson. She was a devoted wife and a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She loved her family, her church family, and the Lord greatly. She enjoyed doing crafts and flower gardening. Surviving in addition to her husband of 47 years, Charles Kenneth Crawford, are her son Kip Crawford and his wife Sherry of Summerville, her daughter Michelle Baxley and husband Johnnie of Mt. Pleasant, four beautiful Grandchildren, Rebekah Crawford, Rachel Crawford, Madison Baxley, and Peyton Baxley, her sister Shirley Wise and her husband Ralph of Ladson, Brother In Law Elmer Hutchinson of Summerville, many special nieces and nephews and a special friend Betty Sweat King of North Charleston. She was predeceased by three sisters, Betty Hutchinson, Dorothy "Dot" Baker, Carolyn Lynch, and her brother Jimmy Smith.
