COLUMBIA, SC - Funeral service for Oliver Iselin Crawford, 60, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with burial in the churchyard following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Crawford died Thursday, November 17, 2011. Born in Huntington, New York, he was the son of the late George and Beatrice Crawford of Salters, S.C. He graduated from Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts and the University of the South (Sewanee). He was employed as Vice-President and State Manager of Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. A member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, he enjoyed serving as an adult Sunday School teacher. Oliver was an avid golfer and sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting birds. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his hunting dogs work in the field and sharing God's creation with his friends. His many friends will remember his great wit and caring heart. He was a devoted husband and father. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Margaret Weaver Crawford (Mopsy), daughter Ruth Weaver Crawford, and son Oliver Iselin Crawford, Junior; brothers George Crawford, Junior, Allston Crawford, and sister Adele Crawford Grimball; and his beloved lab Hattie.
