    2. MULLINS, S.C. - Mr. Arthur Blake Crawford, 93, husband of Mary Thompson Crawford, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at home after an illness. Mr. Crawford was born May 14, 1918 in Horry County, a son of the late James Edwin Crawford and the late Lula Gerrald Crawford. He was a retired automobile body repairman. Mr. Crawford was a US Army Veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #89 for 50 years and had served as a volunteer fireman with the Mullins Fire Department. Mr. Crawford was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class. Surviving Mr. Crawford in addition to his wife of 71 years and of the home are: a Daughter: Miranda Elliott and her husband Glen of Galivants Ferry; another Son-in-Law; Chuck Walker of Delray, Beach, Fl.; a Grandson: Charley Walker of Delray Beach, Fl., a Brother: J.B. Crawford and his wife Nina of Conway; a Sister: Jimmie Norton and her husband Lucian of Nichols; and a Stepbrother: James Collins and his wife Loraine of Loris; Mr. Crawford was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela C. Walker; a sister, Della Graham and 2 brothers, Nathan Laneau Crawford and Alonzo Crawford. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, December 12, from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
