ST. STEPHEN, SC - Thomas Phillip "Tuck" Crawford, III, of St. Stephen, SC, retired owner and operator of the Pineville Self Service, died Monday afternoon in a North Charleston hospital. His funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday afternoon, May 31, 2012, in the St. Stephen Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, directed by the ST. STEPHEN CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends at the CHURCH from 11:30 AM until the hour of service on Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. Stephen Christian Church Ministerial Fund, PO Box 1057, St. Stephen, SC 29479. Mr. Crawford was born April 3, 1931, in Pineville, SC, at the Oakland Club, a son of Thomas Phillip Crawford, Jr., and Una Raybourne Crawford. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, and he was a life member and deacon at the St. Stephen Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). When he was able, Mr. Crawford enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Surviving are, five daughters, Sherrilyn Smith of Goose Creek, Tracey C. Barnette of Pineville, Terri C. Hopkins of Macedonia, Tammy Crawford of Mineralwells, WVA, and Tara C. Jackson of Russellville; two sons, Thomas Phillip Crawford, IV, of Goose Creek and Timothy Joel Crawford, Sr., of Pineville; a sister, Annette C. Clarke of St. Stephen; a brother, John Payne Crawford of Bonneau Beach; his devoted fiance;, Ruth H. Cross of Cross; nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
