Am searching for siblings and parents of James Francis Crawford born in Liverpool in August 1833. The family were previously from Barrow Furness in Cumbria. In the early part of James's life the family moved to Wexford. James travelled to New Zealand on the ship Alma and took up railway surveying for the Provincial Government before setting in Christchurch and raising a family of 3 sons and a daughter, He was a engineer( and town clerk in his later years) and gave service to the early days of settlement in the then young city of Christchurch.
