    3. Hello Kerry, I am interested in James Crawford. My ggggrandfather was a James Crawford. I descend from a Robert Crawford (son of James) who migrated to Australia, possibly in the 1850's. This Robert Crawford was possibly born in Shetland Islands approx 1820, so I guess his father james was probably born somewhere around 1780/1790. If these timelines line up with your records I would love to hear from you as I have hit a brickwall with Robert Crawford. 3. Hello Chuck, I read your data on the Crawford site regarding your Crawford's Alexander & Mary McPheeters. I have searched this "world over" searching for my Crawfords. A cousin indicated our Crawfords are Alexander & Mary McPeeters, however I am not sure. There have been other Crawfords to indicate the same thing. The Only thing I have for sure is my great grandmother was Zillah Ann Crawford born in AL ( or middle TN)9/1822. Her name listed in census records states Zealla Ann ( or Zilley). She went to TX in a wagon train with the Owen family ( my family) She married Pinckney Winfield Owen in about Harrisburg, TX ( now Houston area) She & P.W. had 10 living children, my grandfather William D Owen, next to the youngest. They entered TX before Oct. 1837 and was given 1280 acres by Houston, later sold that land and purchased land in Limestone Co TX where he died after 1865( from Civil War ) and then Zillah died prob. around 1870. We of her family understand she was part or whole Cherokee. Grand dad thought her dad's name was John and her Mom was a Buchannon. And Granddad thought she had relation(s) that fought at the Alamo. Another Crawford said Zillah might have been a nickname for Priscilla or another name. Another Crawford indicated my Zillah may have been an illegitimate from an Indian lady. these are "hear says" and I thought I would throw them at you & see if they ring a bell (?). Could/would you help me out? Are we ( you & I cousins) Would love to hear from you . Wanda Harbert

    2. Bob Crawford
    3. George Wayne Crawford 5/14/1924 - 1/25/2014 Our family has lost a very important member. George (or Wayne…yes, he was known by either name) was born in Potawatomi County, Oklahoma on May 14, 1924 to George and Rachel Crawford. He came to Yuma as an infant and Yuma is where he spent most of his early years. He was a very proud member of the U .S. Army 45th Division (The Thunderbird Division) in World War II. When he returned from the war he married Ellen Marie Williams (or Rea…yes, she is known by two names, too) a Yuma native, on June 16, 1946. They had almost 68 wonderful years together. He was a 30 year veteran of the Yuma Proving Ground Fire Department. After many years in Yuma, George and Ellen have spent the last 25 years in Tucson. George's family was his pride and joy and his most precious legacy. George's family includes his wife, Ellen; his sons, Dan (Pattie) and George (Blenda); and daughter, Janet Couch (Richard). He is also survived by his much adored grandchildren James Crawford (Heather), Karen Conway (Grant), Steven Crawford, Ryan Couch (Lettie), and Lisa Crawford. George's precious great-grandchildren, also survive him, Dylan, Alyssa, and Trevor Conway and Ty Crawford. They brought him great joy and many smiles these past few years. There was never a dull moment with four little ones between the ages of three and seven. George has so many other special people who will miss him, including Eleanor Knight of Yuma and his cousin, Joan Crawford Harmon of Stockton, CA. Services will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you consider a donation in George's memory to The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter, 5278 East 21st Street, Tucson, AZ 85711 (he loved his kitties) or to Arizona's Children Association, 2700 S. 8th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85713, or to a charity of your choice . - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/tucson/obituary.aspx?n=george-wayne-crawford&pid=169400479#sthash.tKmObLzI.dpuf To my Crawford family out there, hope this helps someone.
