Hello, I have thought that New Brunswick might be a clue for my missing Crawfords but haven't gotten far. Joseph Crawford just shows up in Nebraska in 1900 and not in any earlier census records. He is suppose to have worked and marries the widow of a man that is from New Brunswick, Frank Abart. Could they have known each other in Canada? And Joe states his parents are German. Now who ever heard of an German Crawford! Sure messes with any connection with Scotland. I have a picture of a Frank Crawford but that's it, the photographer is from Rock Springs, Wyoming. Hi Rich, I have been looking at Crawfords in Canada and am looking for a person who may have been born anywhere in Canada. My grandfather Frank was born about 1899 and we have reason to believe it could possibly be your area. Do you have any missing male relatives of that age group??? HOLMESVILLE, Ohio -- Lois "LaVern" Crawford, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, Ohio. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be at Prairie Twp. Cemetery, Holmesville. Friends will be received one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home. Those who wish may make a contribution to Hospice of Holmes County, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg, OH 44654. LaVern was born March 5, 1923, to Ora Allen and Zelma Deetz Miller and married Milo Glen Crawford on April 12, 1944. He passed away Feb. 6, 1982. She resided in and around Holmesville all her life. She was a 1941 graduate of Holmesville High School. She was employed on and off at Mansfield Pottery, Fredericksburg Pottery and Freedlanders of Wooster. She retired in 1981, from Holmesville Elementary School, where she was a cook. She was a member of the Holmesville Church of Christ. LaVern enjoyed all aspects of life. Everyone will remember her as a friend. She was known for her sewing, cooking, gardens and her fondness of flowers. She made the "sauce" for the BBQ Chicken at the Holmesville Homecoming for many years and everyone requested her Amish Pudding at family gatherings and special events. She was surely an incredible lady and will be missed by all.
