I'm trying to find a France Crawford, possibly Francis Crawford, who was a resident in Knox County, Kentucky sometime between 1850 and 1900. The only information I have on him is this: He married a Molly Faulkner and one of their children was a Dora Crawford, her date of birth being December 26, 1878. I have hit a brick wall with this person. -- Tina "When I make a mistake, I get frustrated. Fortunately, there's usually something that needs to be demolished." -- Matt Iseman, "Clean House"

Folks, I'm looking for any information on my gggrandfather Byrd Crawford. He would have been born in the mid 1800s, probably in Alabama. He married Barbara Ann Walker in about 1876. Their son, also named Byrd, was born in 1879 in Panther (or Pantha), Alabama. Byrd was said to be a member of the Muskogee Creek nation, although he may have been of mixed ethnic heritage. (Barbara's second husband was also Creek.) Byrd disappeared mysteriously one night when his son was quite young. Our family knows plenty about the younger Byrd, but nothing of his father's family or personal history, and have heard nothing of him since the night he disappeared. I know this is a long shot, but would appreciate any clues you can send my way about Byrd senior's ancestors or, if he was not a victim of foul play, that rest of his life. Thank you. Jocelyn Breeland
