There are several possibilities that I already have, but looking for more since there have been recent posts in Morgan Co that might be connected. Thomas may have been married before he married Miranda in 1847. Also, there was a Lydda Crawford living with them in 1850, she was born in PA aged, 59. Thomas H. 3. Hi, I am looking for the reason (if in fact one is to be found) why Robert Douglas CRAWFORD (b. 5 Jan 1865 Anna. Co. NS to William & Margaret Ann (DOUGLAS) Crawford) & Annie M. COLLINS (b. 8 Apr 1873 Kings Co. NS to George O. & Annie (PHINNEY) Collins) chose to be married in Exeter New Hampshire USA in 1894. They stayed in the USA long enough to have their 1st child, Annie Mae Crawford (b. 8 Jun 1895 in Waltham Mass.). Robert & Annie were located in the 1881 & 1901 Canadian Censuses for Nova Scotia. In the 1901 Census it states that the child Annie Mae Crawford emigrated from the USA to Canada in 1896. Do I have "cousins" in NH or Mass.? If you locate these people in your database I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Karen in Nova Scotia

I'd love to know about his three younger brothers. I do not have their names.... Other than his children I mentioned before - that's it!! I have noticed the Morgan Co. clan before, but cannot find any connections. I also have no descendents of his children..... Help!? Gloria in MD

I, too, have Oh. Crawfords in Coshocton, Jefferson & Morgan Cos. They supposedly immigrated from Castlefinn in Co. Donegal, Ireland in 1791, landing in Boston, then on to PA. then to Coshocton & some to Morgan Co. The immigrant was George Crawford, with his sons, Alexander (my ancestor) b. 1785, Thomas b. 1786 & John, b. 1787. We have not been able to determine if his wife was with them or if she had died & that was part of the reason for the move to America. George later had 3 children that we know of, Elizabeth (birthdate & place unknown), George,Jr. b. 1801 in PA. & James b. 1804 in PA. I have copies of land transactions where George, Sr.'s wife is named as "Mary", but of course, no maiden name. Whether this was the wife who made the migration with them or a 2nd wife, we do not at present, know. Alexander & his wife, Catharine GOSSAGE had land in Coshocton Co., Pike Twp. in 1825 & in 1848 bought land in Morgan Co., Homer Twp. Their children were; 1. William m. Priscilla O'Daniel 1 July 1840 2. John m. Harriet Walcott 27 Oct. 1842 3. Maria m. Jacob Hurd 1848 in Morgan Co. 4. James m. Elizabeth Beasley 5. Alexander b. 1839 I have in my possession the original of a letter written by Alexander, John & James 7 March 1854 from their home in Morgan Co. to Thomas & his family in Coshocton Co. A true keepsake! A great deal of this info came from a book written by Bernice Clark Brunskill who lived in Coshocton for most of her life. My husband, youngest son & I visited with Bernice & her husband George in Coshocton about 6-7 yrs. ago & what terrific people! The above named book is titled FAMILY HISTORY OF THE GEORGE AND THOMAS CRAWFORD FAMILIES and while not complete, it has served as a springboard for most of my Crawford & allied families research. It is not indexed but I would be happy to plow thru it for info if anyone would like....just understand it would take awhile... Others named in the book (this is not a total count) Mary Crawford ASHCRAFT Keziah Crawford TISH Rebecca Crawford DUNN George Crawford who was the 4th child of Thomas & Mary HARTLEY Crawford. His wife was Mariah RAKESTRAW. John Crawford, son of Thomas, m. Lydia SEWARD. James Crawford, b. 23 Dec. 1830, m. Elizabeth MIKESELL 11 Jan. 1856. Anna Crawford MIKESELL b. 25 Dec. 1831, m. 3. I am looking for anyone connected with Robert Alexander Crawford b. Feb. 1825 in Georgia. He married first Rebecca A. Downing b. 1828 in South Carolina and then Ann E. Durham (my ggrandmother) b. 1837 in Georgia. He and his first wife Rebecca were married about 1846 and they are shown in the 1850 Macon County, Alabama census with two sons. Rebecca died sometime between 1857 and 1859 and it shows Robert in 1860 still in Macon County with the children. He and Ann married sometime around 1861 and in 1870 they were living in Tallapoosa County. I do know they came to Texas in 1872 via Mobile to Galveston. They resided until their deaths in Burnet County, Texas. If anyone has any links to this family, I would love to hear from you. I am at a major dead end. Thanks. Emma Dickens
