    3. The woman who took over as editor of The Crawford Exchange was June Crawford Sanders, P. O. Box 671, Janesville, CA 96114-0671. The last issue I received, which was her first (maybe only?) issue was in Aug. 1997 - it was Vol. 18, issue 1. Don't have any idea what happened after that. Marilyn Nickless -

    1. Re: Crawford Brothers: William,Samuel & James,Jr.
    2. Hi Janet, I do believe that all the time I have spent "lurking" and browsing the list has finally paid off, thanks to you! My grandfather, James Craig Crawford, was the son of Henry Ellet Crawford and Eliza Jane Craig. According to information from Hanover College, Henry was born in Orange Co., N.C., Dec. 1,1832. On the college enrollment records for 1856 and 1858, his "Parents or Guardian" were listed as Samuel & Elizabeth Crawford of Bedford, Lawrence Co., IN. but in 1857 as Rev. Henry H. and Emily M. Crawford of Rushville, IN. In that same year,1857, John Wesley Crawford enrolled in Hanover College at the age of 21, listing Samuel & Elizabeth as his parents. I believe that Henry Ellet and John Wesley were brothers, but where do the Rev Henry H. and Emily M. Crawford fit in? I'm afraid that I can't add very much. I have no Crawford 1st or 2nd cousins but it's exciting to find that there may be so many 3rd and 4th and I'd love to hear what you might be willing to share. Warren

    3. You will probably be swamped, but yes there are lots of KY Crawfords. I am researching Benjamin F and Rebecca Williams Boggs Crawford who left Carter Co in 1869,went to Hickory Co MO and remained there until their deaths in the 1890s. His brother Sanders was in Carter Co,brother Harvey was in Estill Co until after the 1850 census,John Milton was back and forth between KY&OH. There were more siblings, but thought these might get something started. They were the children of James and Jane Llewellyn Crawford who left TN and were in Montgomery Co KY for several years, she died there and he went with some of his children to Carter Co and lived to be 95 years old. He is buried on the family farm near Carter Caves State Park. Linda Crawford in MO.

    3. Hello all. We are still LOL (laughing out loud) over all of the comments about CRAWFORDs falling from the sky, dropping from heaven, being hatched, etc. Like the rest of you, we always thought that our Marshall had to have sprung from a cabbage patch! Marshall CRAWFORD was (apparently) born around 1793/1800 in KY; married Rebecca SINCLAIR; they had 8 children, all born in AR (from 1825 to 1842); they moved to Hopkins Co., TX and then to Bell Co., TX. Marshall died in 1879, and Rebecca in 1882. Any info that anyone can share about Marshall and siblings and/or parents will be greatly appreciated! Don & Melinda Crawford

    3. Hi youall, As with a lot of youall out there, I read the messages thru and find no clues. Have posted a few times, but there does not seem to be a Crawford in Kentucky! My Crawfords were dropped from heaven and did not come from anywhere. So, will post again and maybe a small KY. voice will answer. My gggrandfather and grandmother were Patrick and Lucrietia (Wyatt) Crawford, from Bracken Co., Kentucky. Patrick was born 5 April 1838 and Lucrietia(Lucy) was born in 1844. My ggrandfather and grandmother were John Patrick and Ida Mae (England) Crawford, from Bracken C., Kentucky. John was born 17 June 1875 and Ida Mae (my connection), was born 5 Dec 1881. My grandparents were Richard and Mollie Violet (Crawford) Bell. They were from Bracken Co. Richard was born 5 Feb 1898, Mollie was born 24 Nov 1903. Sorry I took so long, but I really wanted to be as complete as possible. If there are any Kentucky Crawfords out there...YELL. By the way, Carlisle is in Bracken Co.,KY. Thanks for reading all. Take care and God bless, Aileen from N.KY. <ejhurst@eos.net>
