The last will and testament of George CRAWFORD follows: Common Pleas, April Term A.D. 1838 George CRAWFORD | Will & Probate Dec'd. Estate of | The State of Ohio, Coshocton county. __________________| Court of Common Pleas April Term 1838 Be it remembered that now at the April Term aforesaid, to wit, on the thirtieth day of April in the year aforesaid, The last will and Testament of George CRAWFORD, late of Coshocton county, dec'd was produced which reads in the words & figures following. Viz: "I, George CRAWFORD of Coshocton county and State of Ohio, considering the uncertainty of life and being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament. First, I give my soul to Almighty God who gave it. Next, I give to my son, Alexander CRAWFORD one dollar. To my son, Thomas CRAWFORD I give one dollar; to my daughter, Elizabeth (Crawford) WATSON, I give one dollar; then all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate to be equally divided between my two sons, George CRAWFORD and James CRAWFORD, paying strict regard to valuation of property. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of December one thousand eight hundred thirty. Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of us, Casper SEEVERS George BOTTS /s/ George CRAWFORD <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This George Crawford is my ggggrandfather who immigrated, supposedly, from Castlefinn, County Donegal, Ireland in 1791...landing in Boston and moving on to PA. (county unknown for sure at present), then to Ohio. George lived in Jefferson Co. OH. before moving on to Coshocton. I do not know if a wife came with him or he re- married after arriving in the U.S. In 1826 there are land records mentioning George and "his wife, Mary'" but I have no maiden name for her. George immigrated with sons Alexander, Thomas and John, then Elizabeth appears, approx. 1800, then George in 1801 in PA. and James , 1804 in PA. I would truly appreciate hearing from any of you who believe this info may tie in with your family. Thanks so much. Marilynn Munn Strand mmstrand@aol.com

Here's a list of Strickland's that have documentation at the Talladega AL courthouse. Let me know if you find anything interesting on any of these people. I am looking for any link to Allan C. Crawford from the area of Cobbtown, Ga around the turn of the century. He was married to Mina Lee Oliver and he died before 1940. They had a son - William Edward Crawford. Allan was a farmer. Thanks.
I'm interested in any information anyone might have about Wright Crawford (m) 02-Jan-1841 in MO to Elizabeth Matildia Cox. He died in the early 1840's Thank you Mary Lou Kohler MLK326@aol.com
I am searching for the parents of (or any information about) the following brothers; Evans b. 1798 d. 1863, Lemuel d. 1836 at the Alamo, and Merriman Crawford. I believe they came to Texas from South Carolina. Thank you, Madelyn Aaland
There was a Maud Crawford who disappeared from her home in Camden, Ouachita County, Arkansas on the night of March 2, 1957. Her husbands's name was Clyde Crawford. She was grandfathered in as an Attorney before a degree was required., She married Clyde in 1925. Clyde's father was W. G Crawford and was a blaksmith who died in a fire at his home. He died trying to save his wife. There was a nationwide hunt for Maude but to no avail. Her body was never found. Prior to her disappearance she was involved in a dispute over an estate. They ran stories in July and August of 1986 in the Arkansas Democrat a Little Rock Arkansas paper, to recapture the events of what happened. . I know one was run on Augus 3 of 1986. I do not have birthdates of either Clyde or Maud .
eBay has a photo of one Mrs. Maude Crawford: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=115362493 Quote: Very old photo post card of a woman in a plain cotton dress, taken outdoors in a rural setting, probably in Missouri. Card has the name "Mrs. Maude Crawford" on back. Addressed, but never sent to a Miss Pearl Vanwinkle of Nowata, Oklahoma. Condition as shown in picture, no tears, but some deterioration around edges, and somewhat soiled on back of card. Very nice piece of early 20th Century rural Americana, though! Please add $0.55 postage, check or money order okay. See our other auctions for more post cards. NO RESERVE! Good luck! No, I'm not the seller. I was looking for things about Nowata, OK and I saw this and wondered if I could find her on the wwweb. It's probably worth a dollar or two to somebody on this list. I'm un-subscribing now. Bye-- --Luke
Does anyone out there have any information on Lydia, known familiarly as Pearl? She was born in Johnson Co, GA, probably around 1880, married Custer B. Manning of Laurens Co, GA and gave birth to my grandmother, Lucille Varina Manning, in 1902. I have hit a brick wall with the Crawford side of the family, although I know some other Crawfords were living during my childhood. Thanks for any help. Mary Lu
I want to thank everyone who has been involved in my search for Ellen crawford Weaver. I am HOOKED on this genealogy stuff, but am feeling a little overwhelmed...there are so many places to search, and I have a tendancy to get off track. Anyway, in my search for Ellen Crawford and her father Joseph, I discovered from Renee Nooner that Joseph was married to Isabelle Nooner b abt 1848, d abt 1878. Father KINDRED Nooner Mother Jennetta J. Renee tells me taht they had two children, James born in 1868 and Martha E born in 1870. I am especially interested in learning more about both of them. A beautiful 1895 US Atlas map of Arkansas i happened to stumble on in my wanderings in rootsweb.com has helped me to picture where they were. I also discovered www.peabody.yale.edc/cgi-bin/query.GNIS which helped me learn where Spring River , Lawerence Co Ar is. I am so new to all of this that I am sure all of you know about it, but maybe there are newcomers as well who can use the help. Wanda Tracy, you have been sending some wonderful information, and I am espcecially interested in the last message with all the census records listed. How do I research these? I am also concerned about proper documentation and internet genealogy .... does anyone have a good sourse of information where I can learn the rules? Thank you very much, Crawfords! It's a pleasure to be connected! Wanda Spegal sure to be connected! Wanda Spegal

As historian of my church I am trying to obtain biographical information of each of the ministers of the church. In this regard I am looking for information and possible leads for Rev. Otis Dickinson Crawford, born on 5 February 1842 in Dubuque IA. He was the son of James and Mary Brown (Bellows) Crawford. He married Clara Wood on 1 September 1874 at Waterloo Iowa. He served as pastor in Bedford Massachusetts from 1 August 1875 to 1 November 1876. Any information or possible leads would be greatfully appreciated. TO ALL READERS: My name is Michael Law and I have posted here before. Since my last post I have found out additional information. Let me re-hash my history. I have done extensive research on my paternal surname; however, most recently I just discovered that the man listed on my birth certificate Tallie W. Law, Jr was not my father. I was always told that he was sent to prison while my mother was 8 months pregnant. It was not until I researched the Ohio Penn Prison Roster did I discover that he was in prison before I was conceived and not released until after I was born. My mother and him never re-united again. I finally, had the courage to ask my mother who was my father. She told me today and said she was greatly relieved to divulge this secret she kept for almost 42 years. I was born July 8, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio. I would have been conceived probably somewhere around October, November, or December 1956. My mother was about 26 years old in 1957. She said my father was SAM CRAWFORD. She is not sure how much older he was than her. At first she said he was 15 years her senior thus he would have probably been born around 1916, but again she is not sure now??? Sam was living with his sister (BERTHA ARNOLD) and brother-in-law (CLARENCE W. ARNOLD), and nephew (Ronnie) on Deckenball Street in Columbus, Ohio. Sam was a bartender at the Neil House in Columbus, Ohio, again in 1956. The last time my mother seen Sam was when I was about 3 years old. Again some basic facts Father's Name: Sam Crawford Sam's Sister's Married Name: Bertha ARNOLD Sam's Brother-in-Law: Clarence W. ARNOLD Time: 1956-1957 Location: Columbus, OH Employed @ Neil House as a bartender Lived on Deckenball Street May have been born between 1915-1930 Please E-Mail me... THanks Mike Law
Larry, I hope you get this-- Cousin Dale Crawford from Louisiana sent me this info on the Crawford Reunion. The reunion springs from Thomas Aaron Crawford, born 1865, Charlton County, Georgia, died 1920, Bradford County, Florida. Son of John C Crawford and Elizabeth Roberts. There was a Thomas Crawford (born about 1795, Effingham County, Georgia, died after 1880, Baker County, Florida) who was pastor of Emmaus Church in Charlton County, and who was the uncle of this John C Crawford. Because Thomas was a fairly common name among Crawfords, there may have been other Thomas Crawfords in Charlton County as well. At any rate, I hope all Crawfords who have any interest will attend: July 10, 1999 (10:30 a.m. - mid afternoon) Union Primitive Baptist Church Dining Hall Lunch at 12:00 Noon! >From Highway 301 in Starke, turn West on Highway 16 (Raiford Road) about four miles to County Road 233 (Morgan Road), turn left (south)--two miles to church on left. Bring: Food - Beverage - Camera - Old Family Photos - Children's games Furnished: Plates, cups, utensils - Cool air conditioned building Feel free to invite all of your family to attend as we do not have current addresses for some. If you have any questions, please call us at (904) 964-6123. Last year's reunion was especially nice. We had many new faces that we hope will be there again this year and bring a few more with them as well. We'll be looking for you!
