Mary (CRAWFORD) CURTIS was my gg-grandmother. The only information I have on her came from her daughter's death certificate. It says that she was born in Lowell. My g-grandmother, Kate CONWAY, was born in bloomington, IL. Her father was Michael CONWAY, born in Cork, Ireland. I'm not sure whether he and Mary were married in MA or in IL. Does anyone know anything about my poor Mary? Thanks, Gail
Hi Jean, I even have a sister named Jean, and we are Crawfords also. Just wanted to let you know that I have been reading all yourletters and am very interested in them. I have two sets of CRAWFORDs. It is possible that they are one and the same family, though I still have no way of knowing where my northern group actually comes from. We understand from Scotland and "have a castle" there. It really is reduced to rubble now [20 years ago]. The southern set are definitly out of Scotland and from the Inverness area. Dad understood that his people [the north] were of the Lindsay clan. Just cannot find the connection between the two yet. One of these days!!!! Andrew Crawford wrote: > my son where exactly the Lindsey tower and Crawford Castle was at. I remember > it was on the East part of Scotland. Ill find out. Jean Margie

Hello Everyone, I am seeking information on Robert Edward Crawford, who married Margaret Kirkwood on Feb.10, 1854 in Magherafelt, Londonderry, Ireland. I am trying to trace back or forward. Their son was William E Crawford b.7/22/1858 in No. Ireland. He married Agnes Theresa Martin b. 1867 in Ireland. Agnes' parents were John Martin and Margaret Sullivan, both of Ireland. William and Agnes eventually settled in NH, Newmarket and finally Manchester. Their children's names were Mary Ellen, Harriet, Agnes, Robert and John Edward. Any and all information appreciated. Thanks, Jan (Crawford) Farley

Hello all, I have posted this request before, perhaps someone may have come accross an answer. My ggrandfather was J. T. Crawford born 1816 in Randolph county NC. He married Rhoda Beaman in Randolph County NC and they had James T. b 1840 and Oliver Henry Perry b 1842 (my grandfather) both born in Randolph County NC. Rhoda later is shown married to a Davis in AR and then the entire family including my gggrandfather Miles Beaman are in Nacogdoches County TX for the 1850 census. My question is does anyone have information as to who J. T.'s parents were and or a record of when he died.
Hi, Crawfords, My great-greatgrandfather, Robert Crawford, was born in Pennsylvania in 1799, and migrated to Butler County Ohio, in the early 1800s. His son, Robert Hamilton Crawford, was born at Reily, Ohio, where the family farm was. I've located the graves of my great-greatgrandparents near Reily, and I've also located the farmstead. I cannot, however, find where Robert Sr. was born or who my immigratant Crawford forebear is. Anybody out there know anything that will help? Robert Jr. joined the Union Army in Franklin, Indiana, and was discharged in 1864. He then moved to Northwest Missouri, and later to Oklahoma Territory, the western half of present-day Oklahoma. He and my great-grandmother, Lucy Jane Stark Crawford, are buried at Cordell, Oklahoma, where they settled in 1901. Thanks, Dick Crawford
I could really use your help. If anyone here has the Family Tree Maker Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1538-1940 (#354) and would be willing to do a quick search on a surname, would you please email me? ALSO, I am still looking for Henry Folca Crawford's father's name. I think that if I had that.....everything might fall into place for a search........Please let me know..... Pam (still yet another) Crawford Information taken from Carroll Co. Ohio 1850 The records show Henry's birth year as 1810, but 1812, is proven birthdate on youngest sons birth certificate. When I was a child my great grandfather, James Wesley CRAWFORD, told me a story about a man in his town who unearthed a diamond. Evidently a neighbor claimed it was on his property, and killed the man. Grandpa was born in Fayette, KY but moved as a young child to Smith Co. TN. He left there in 1919. Question: does anyone know a such an event that took place in Smith Co.? I don't know any names, but if it took place it would have been after 1880. Any suggestions of how I might verify this story? Please respond. Gwendolyn Melton <pengwen@thegrid.net>
I'd like to know too, I have Crawfords in Georgia that I'm stuck on.....
