    1. [CRAWFORD] Re: Crawfords who fought for the Confederate States of America
    2. My line contains Adam Crawford who married Mary Hunter and through their daughter Mira Crawford who married Ballard Lenoir Privette (Privet). Did any of Adam's sons fight for the CSA? Did Adam have any brothers who fought for the CSA? Many thanks for any and all replies. 3. There were lots of William Crawfords at this time! Looking for parents of William H Crawford, b Dec 1845 in Mercer County, West Virginia. Birth records destroyed by fire. He is either son, grandson or nephew of Zachariah Crawford b 1779, who was son of Gideon (?Thomas). Zachariah’s wife Jane Bowling past normal child bearing age. My Wm is NOT son of Zachs son Charles A and Chloe as their son Wm died of camp fever in 1841 in Lewisburg as confederate soldier. He could be son of deceased son of Zach b about 1813-14 probably named William who paid taxes in Mercer Cty along w/ Zach, Charles, John B., and thomas, and Reuben. Could also be son of John as they both were on Meigs county, Ohio 1870 census along with widow Jane and day Margaret Harriet Crawford Thomas. Could also be son of Z’s sons Thomas or Reuben. Reuben and My Wm H both missing from 1850 Mercer census and all others family accounted for my Wm H is on 1860 census serving in Reuben’s household. Sent from my iPhone

    3. No. Sorry. Does any one have a tree on Moses Crawford b. 1816 SC m. Mary Reed in Itawamba, Mississippi? ----- Original Message ----- From: Glenna Geiger <glennafg52@gmail.com> Reply-To: <crawford@rootsweb.com> To: <crawford@rootsweb.com> Sent: 4/9/2018 3:53:47 PM Subject: [CRAWFORD] William Crawford ________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for relatives of my great-grandfather, William Crawford, of South Dumfries, Ontario, Canada. He self-identified as a laborer in 1877. He had a non-spousal relationship with Annie S.E. Faus/Fauss, also of South Dumfries, and they had a son, Louis Faus/Fauss in October 1877. He signed the birth register as the father and was present in his son's life, for a short time at least, because when Louis' first son was born, he named him William Crawford Faust (Louis added a "t" to his surname when he crossed the border into Michigan). I know people are leery of the possibility that one of their ancestors fathered a child out of wedlock, but that child was my grandfather, and the namesake, William Crawford Faust, was my dad. I have no idea how old William Crawford was in 1877, but Annie Faus/Fauss was 20. She married William Packer in 1882. Many thanks, Glenna _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you have registered with RootsWeb Mailing Lists. Her public Ancestry family tree is online at < http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/500926 >. Her e-mail address in 2007 was < janrick@charter.net >.
