And I've read a few others who have a William and no parents. You do need an area, halfway a period of time, some other info at the time of request. Really tho, I do wish yu luck. hi Lynn, the only Crawford connection i have is along my Tharp / Thorpe line and i'm not even certain about that. i have info to my ggg grandfather, Jacob Tharp, born 1800 PA. there are indications that he might tie into the Jacob Tharp line of the "Jacob Tharp, born 1744 in England, married Phebe Crawford in 1767, New Providence, NJ. their children, born between 1770 and 1787, were Wm., Abigail, Jacob F., Elihu and Huldah. Jacob died 1793, Fayette cnty, PA." this info is due the following two researchers: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/t/h/a/Norman-L-Tharp/index.html http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/5941/cet1A.html not knowing if the Crawford info i run across is of importence to me, i send it to the list so if it might be helpful for someone else. i have no futher info than that which i send. Lynn, i'm sending a copy of my reply to the Crawford list so if anyone might have futher info. onward & backward judy

Perhaps this may help someone out there fill in some blanks... I've uploaded my thus-far accumulated geneology to a web page. Not many Crawfords so far, but that's the focus of my research and I'm hoping to fix that soon. (If anybody recognises some names, PLEASE let me know!) Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks! Rob http://homepages.go.com/~hiharin3/geneology.html -- We look to Scotland for all our ideas of civilisation -- Voltaire

Hi ! Just wondering - does anyone on this list have Crawford interests in Fifeshire ?? Wendy crawfs@geo.net.au
If you will look at the 1820 Federal census, you will see it broken down to Males, (M), Females (F), Slaves (S or S1?) and FC (free colored). It is also broken down to children (that might be the C). This is just conjecture for what it's worth. mimi ----- Original Message ----- From: Wanda R Tracy <wrtracy@juno.com> To: <CRAWFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 09, 1999 11:40 AM Subject: Fw: Re: Fw: (no subject) > This was sent to me . There are Johns in this Crawford family, Iam researching, however Ive swum the pond and Im stuck in the mud bank on the Scottish side. Alexander Crawford and wife Mary Hill (m. 1828) havent shown up to pull me out of the Clyde. So its down to elimination time or trying to locate sibling lines for there children, of which one was William Crawford born about 1835, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, a few wee miles from Glasgow.
