Hello all. I'm new to this so please bear with me... I'm looking for Crawfords in the Rockingham, VA; Amherst, VA and then Augusta, VA area, as well as the Upshur County WV area. To all Crawford researchers: I am searching for a copy of "The Brothers Crawford" by Allen W. Scholl. I have only recently found that I am descendent of Valentine Crawford and do not know much about my line. I have tried Amazon.com and Barns and Noble and have been unsuccessful. If anyone has any idea where I can get a copy of this out of print book please let me know. Thanks in advance David Crawford hunter@insync.net

In my research today of my DeLoach line, I have found where there were some DeLoach and Crawford marriages. This information is an '"extract" from a book by Joseph Earle Steadman " DESLOGES FAMILY" 1981. CARRIE DELOACH, (dau of John Deloach, b. 1836) born 1868 married WILL CRAWFORD ( John DeLoach family listed in 1880 Edgefield Co. SC census) Thomas DeLoach (e) (ca 1799; 1861) married Miss MARY CRAWFORD abt 1820(ca 1805-ca 1826) & settled in Edgefield Co SC where they appeared in 1820 census . Mary who bore him 2 childre, was the dau of JAMES & TIRZA (Hagood )CRAWFORD. EDWARD DELOACHE (ca1820-1864) was son of Thomas & MARY CRAWFORD Deloach. If anyone has a CRAWFORD-DELoach connection, will you please get in touch with me? Wanda wrtracy@juno.com
Hello All! I am looking for information on my great-grandfather and his ancestors. My grandfather has passed away, and no one is left to give me information on him. I am pretty sure his name is ROY CRAWFORD. Middle name possibly is Henry Bacon. I was told his middle name came from the doctor who delivered him. I am not sure of where or when he was born. I do know that his first wife's name was MAE C. GIEDEL and his second wife's name was VIOLET (don't know her last name. ROY and MAE had 2 children, both born in Omaha, Nebraska, DOROTHY MAE CRAWFORD, and JACK EDWARD CRAWFORD. JACK was born Feb. 21, 1925. ROY and VIOLET did have at least one child, and he is still living, so I would rather not post his name here. Although, I don't know where to find him. He surely must have information on his father. If anyone can help me, I would be so grateful!

Hi. I am new to the list and thought I'd post my Crawfords. Mary Ann Crawford ( born 1774) married Robert Denbo in Shelby County Ky on Feb. 27, 1797. She was the Daughter of Robert Crawford of Pa, Shelby and Harden Counties Ky. He died in Harden county ( Robert Crawford) and left wife MaryAnn, sons John and William, daughter Mary Ann Denbo, and two Riley grandsons. By 1810 the Denbos and Crawfords were in Harrison county Indiana. The extended family lived in Crawford and Orange counties as well. Robert Denbo was from Washington/Westmoreland county Pa; and I wonder if that is where the Crawfords were from. Mary Ann's Brothers also married Denbo women.
