    3. Robert, Thanks for remembering me....you are the first break I've had...most of the information I have found out has been on my own through Census records, Social Security applications, birth certificates & death certificates...no one seems to know this family.....you have made my day!!!! I did find Cleveland living with his grandfather Samuel...and I did find that his mother was Nangus....and most recently through his sister Manda Fannie Crawford who married Jacob Hoover I found on her Social Security form that her mother was Nang Shifflett.... But I've still been unable to discover what was Cleveland's father's name??? Also what was Samuel's (Cleveland's grandfather) parent's name??? In this book does it give any clue to what either Cleveland or Samuel's parents names were??? Also how does Zachariah Crawford fit into the picture is this Samuel's father, grandfather, or ggrandfather?? Any assistance woudl be greatly appreciated...if you or any of my other cousins have access to the Harrison Library and would be willing to do some research I would be willing to compensate you for your efforts.....I live all the way out in sunny California. 2. To Mike Law I recall that you were asking about the father of Cleveland Crawford. As you probably know he's listed on the 1900 Rockingham census living with his grandfather Samuel. There is a book in the Harrisonburg Co. library, The Morris & Crawford Families of Hopkins Gap - Fulks Run Virginia. This Crawford family is related to Samuel (they spell it Simiel). They are also related to the three familles ahead of Samuel in the census. Joseph and Mary C. Crawford, Elin Crawford and children Rebecca and Victoria, Joseph and Mary Crawford and son John, cousin Crawford Banks and niece Mollie. This family of Crawford's goes back to Zachariah Crawford who was born in Green Co., VA. Also, I found the following record. Rockingham ---- 18 Jul 1910 - Crawford, Cleveland, 25, s/o Nangus, m. 1. Crawford/Hambrick connections
    2. Bujak,Karen
    3. Hello all, I have just joined the Crawford list and hope someone can help me. The 1850 Census of Botetourt Co, VA has the following listing: 1214 CRAWFORD, ANDREW K 51 M CRAWFORD, SUSANNA 37 F CRAWFORD, MARTHA A 7 F CRAWFORD, MARGARITA P 5 F CRAWFORD, JOSEPH 3 M CRAWFORD, MARY A 1 F 1215 CRAWFORD, JAMES 53 M CRAWFORD, SAML F 57 M CRAWFORD, SARAH 56 F HAMBRICK, SAML 26 M CRAWFORD , SAML O 13 M I believe that this Samuel HAMBRICK is the son of James HAMBRICK and Mary CRAWFORD. Mary CRAWFORD died about 1825-6, I think, and James Hambrick then married Isabelle CRAWFORD. My questions: How are Mary and Isabelle related to the family Samuel is living with? or to each other? Who is Sarah Crawford married to? James or Samuel F? Are James and Samuel brothers? I also found a posting on the Crawford list about a will of Alexander Crawford in Overton, TN leaving an interest in his Botetourt Co, VA land to a Samuel Hambrick. How are all these Crawford's connected? And who are Mary CRAWFORD HAMBRICK's parents? I only included the Census for Andrew and Susannah because they live in the next household so are probably part of the picture too. Anyone know any answers? Thanks, Karen Bujak
