    3. Wendy, You didn't list a time reference, therefore I'm not positive the John and James Crawford you refer to are the same individuals as my Crawford ancestors. Suffice it to say, my John (and brother James) were the sons of James and Elizabeth (Campbell) Crawford of Scotland (via Londonderry, Ireland). They arrived in this country circa 1730 and resided initially in Union, CT and later removed to Westminster, VT in 1769 and to Putney, VT in 1799. My direct Crawford descendants later moved to Iowa before it became a state. All of the above can be documented. If those dates and names confirm that they could be your Crawford line, contact me via email using the above email address. I do have additional information. 3. List: I will add yet another James and John Crawford to this group! Mine were the s/o Robert and Elizabeth Duncan Crawford. Robert was the s/o Thomas and Elspeth Beechem. They were from Lanarkshire, Scotland. Later moved on to Ireland and came to PA and they settled in Hanover, Dauphin Co. PA. Some of the sons moved on to Warren Co. Oh. and my direct desc. George's dtr.Mary Ellen, m. James Hutchison Craine in Des Moines IA. She d.in Antigo, Wi. in 1919. Is any of this familiar to anyone? This is a very incomplete list of the families, and if anyone is interested, I can give more . Donna On Jul 29, 2012, at 1:00 AM, crawford-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. 1. [CRAWFORD] Moses CRAWFORD Swanton Franklin Vermont early 1800's
    2. Lisa Crawford McRoberts
    3. I am searching Moses CRAWFORD and his wife Mary WEBSTER who lived in Swanton, Franklin, Vermont in the early 1800's. I don't know who are the parents of Moses. I know that their daughter, Sally L CRAWFORD, was buried at the Jane Street Cemetery after her death on August 16, 1827. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=crawford&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=49&GScnty=2944&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=20458339&df=all& The family later moved to New York. They were enumerated there in the 1850 US Census. In 1860, Moses isn't with the family when they are enumerated in Swanton, Franklin, Vermont. Mary Webster CRAWFORD was listed as the head. There is a child who was born between the 1850 and 1860 who is listed as having been born in "Canada E." Where did the family go to in Canada? Did Moses die in Canada? Was Moses the son of John and Philadelphia? Is he related to Simeon?

    3. Wendy, mine were the /other/ Crawfords in Westmoreland. There were two families, unrelated or not closely related. Mine will be associated with German families and Zion Lutheran church, I think yours then more with Irish families from what I'd seen. I thought it would be helpful for you to know there were two family groups. Some of "mine" also headed to OH, not all in any case. They first came to Philly, then MD, then this bunch back to PA while others directly on to OH that I know of, then IN.

I think he left PA around 1813 and went first to Muskingum County then into Morgan County where he is buried.
