    3. Hi Wanda,  First let me say that I admire you so much for staying active at genealogy at 92.  I have a close friend who is 90, and she has lost the ability to do this work because of extremely poor vision from macular degeneration.  However, I have her tree and her DNA kit under my managment, and I do the computer work, find things, and call her and tell her what I found.  She does the thinking and guidance for where else to look, what kinds of things like nicknames, etc. that she would like to have recorded in her tree.  We have fun together doing this split work. We use my eyes and fingers and her brains on this project for her. Now, for your Crawford question.  I looked carefully since I have Crawfords, but these are not mine.  However there is a tree on Ancestry that has a lot of info on your Zillah.  I will put it in this email for you.  I have not checked the validity of this information myself, but the researcher who put it there has very detailed information.  Ancestry doesn't share email addresses, so I can't give you her email address.  However, if you are interested in contacting her, I will message her through Ancestry and ask her to contact you if you will send me your email address.  The only thing given about her location is East Texas.  Below is what I found on her tree: Zillah A Crawford born 11 Dec 1822 Tennesseedied 1877  Limestone Co, TX Father   John Crawford (1775-1847)Mother  Margaret Peggy Buchanan  (1776-1847) Married Pinckney Whitfield Owen (1818-1869) Children Job James JeffersonJohn FranklinRobertMarySarah AnnPinckney WinfieldTurner WTexanna MGeorge WashingtonWilliam AdolphusSamuel Houston All of the children's last names are Owen.  Their birth dates are between 1840 and 1864.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if you need me to look up anything else.  Anna DattaloNederland, TXadattalo@att.net On Friday, June 21, 2019, 02:14:08 PM CDT, Wanda Harbert <wandaharbert@charter.net> wrote: Hello Crawford’s I searched for my great great grandma Zillah Crawford for years and never found more than this:  she went to Texas in wagon train and supposedly with an Owen Family an later married a Pinckney Owen at age 14 in the Houston area tho Houston was not there then, Harris Co. was.I can’t remember the years( I m  92) She and heri  ihusband o1240 o acres of land as a gift for arriving in TX.at  that year. 3. I also have Jeremiah Crawford b art 1777-abt 1880 in Monroe Amherst, VA in my Crawford tree and don’t see the Zachariah Crawford b 1794-5 in Rockingham Co., VA as his son. I have Jeremiah as son of Gideon Crawford, 1831 and his Will that supports this. I show Jeremiah married to Jany Crawford (1st cousin) and their children as Oliver, 1790–1860, Elizabeth, 1793-1875, William 1794-1853, Mary b 1800Ann b 1803 and Margaret Eliz b 1810 . Show wife 2 Nancy Brooks kids Elizabeth, 1835, Nancy, 1847-1881, and Mary E 1856. I’ve also hit a brick wall on William H Crawford’s parents ( b 1845 Mercer Co.,. WVA. Have been to Charleston and Princeton and no birth records before 1853. Believe he is related to the Zachariah Crawford family who was a brother of Jeremiah and born 1779, VA to Gideon and think Mary. Have you all looked closely at the Rhode Island Crawfords? The names, Gideon, Jeremiah, Thomas, William and John repeat a lot and William Crawford born to Gideon 8 Dec 1715 I believe could be father to the Jeremiah and Gideon we are discussing. There are just too many Williams Crawford to differentiate for sure! Karen Crawford Jennings

    2. Hello Crawfords, I caught your message on the list and thought maybe you guys could shed some light or confirm my info on my line. As with many females in genealogy, I have a weak link.  I'm looking for info on a Mary / Maria / Polly born Crawford (early 1800's) married John Hawk, Pa.  If  my resources are correct, I have Mary / Polly as the daughter of Mathias and Mary Crawford.  Mathias as son of Jonas and Jonas son of David.  I never did a lot with this branch of my tree until I could make a positive connection with this Polly.  Can anyone help me?  My Crawfords /  Hawks / Stitts, etc were mostly in Ohio and Pa.  I did hear a story that they traveled west in a covered wagon for a while but must have come back to the southern Ohio  and western Pa. area.  Thanks! However, I came up empty on that. Sorry I couldn’t help connect for you. Also, FTDNA says I am all updated now.
