    3. Dear Hilary, Thank you very much for your email. As I'm sure you know from Lachlan's home page, he died about 12 months ago and his large website is no longer being maintained. We (his NOK) have agreed with Bluehaze to keep it as it was when he died; and so there is currently no updatable Cranswick Genealogy site to incorporate your changes. There was also a Cranswick Genealogy email list that Lachlan used to maintain. The last activity on it was probably almost 10 years ago and I don't know if it is still working. The links are shown on his genealogy page. I have no expertise in the area - what we Cranswick's need is someone to take over from where Lachlan left off! All the best, Noel From: Horsfall [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, 25 January 2011 2:32 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Cranswick 'family' Hello Noel, I have just come across Lachlan Cranswick's personal homepage on the web and am fascinated by it. I am emailing you as I am not sure who else/what other email addresses to use to make contact. My mother was Lena Kate Cranswick (b 1906 d 1974) before her marriage; her parents were Matthew Henry Cranswick (b 1860 in Bridlington, die 1928 in Hull ) and Kate Wright (b 1863, died Hull 1909). As it happens I am going to meet an elder cousin of mine in Hull this time next week; her father was (one of my mother's brothers) William Cranswick(b 1894 d 1975 ). I will not add more detail now - it may not be of interest to you - but I can say that there is an error in the list of 'military Cranswicks' (and it one I have seen on another version of the family tree) Pte Matthew Cranswick 7 E York's was another of the children of Matthew Henry and Kate (nee Wright) (and thus not of the parents shown on the web site) I am totally correct in saying this; my cousin has the original of a letter sent from Matthew's Company Commander to her father, William, then a company commander in 8 E Yorks and nearby at the time asking if William wanted to see his brother's body or grave (later lost) before/at burial. I can be contacted on the address (my husband's) from which I have sent this email or on my own address [email protected] Hilary Horsfall
