    3. I am a great-great-great-grandson of John Cranston (c1793-1851) who was the St Mary's Church of ireland Parish Clerk in Castlecomer, co Kilkenny from about 1822 onwards. I don't know where he came from to there or what happened to his children except for his son Matthew who emigrated to South Australia in 1849. Does this ring any bells with anybody? I am descended from the County Cavan, Ireland Cranstons. My great great grandfather was James Cranston, married to Mary Letitia Barkley. They lived outside Bailieborough on a farm in Rakeevan township. They had 10 children, of which 7 immigrated to the states. All of those came to New York, and three of the boys settled in Ness County, three remained in New York, and two in Wisconsin. We visited Ireland three years ago and met some of our relatives there, and in England. If you get a chance while in Dublin, visit the National Archives on Bishop Street. I would be happy to share my family tree with you if you are interested. To my knowledge, we had no one settled in North Dakota or Canada. However, some of the decendents may have ended up there. > > Thank you so much for getting back to me.
