Born in Northampton on Feb. 1, 1960, he was the son of Gordon and Shirley Cranston. He received diplomas at Hampshire Regional High School and Smith Vocational & Agricultural High School and became a certified electronic technician. He spent most of his working career at L&H TV & Appliance in Northampton, and then changed career paths to become a production engineer at VSS in Greenfield. Throughout his years, Gordon enjoyed boating, fishing, restoring muscle cars, watching the Red Sox and spending time with his family. He leaves behind his daughter Rachael Roberts and her husband, Ed, of Goshen; his son, Gordon Cranston III and his wife, Chrissy, of Haydenville; and his daughter Lauren Cranston of Greenfield. He also leaves his siblings, Debra McDonald, Susan Ryan, Bonnie Callahan and Richard Cranston; and three granddaughters, Morgan and Adalynn Roberts and Lillian Cranston. Many friends and family are left behind as well, along with his dog, Bella. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at his daughter Rachael's home at 31 S. Chesterfield Road, Goshen, on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. Donations may be made in the name of Gordon Cranston Jr. to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
