Cranston, 60, of Carlisle peacefully passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1950, in Aberdeen, Md., and was the son of the late Norman and Audrey M. (Sauseville) Cranston. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane E. (Shafer) Cranston, who died May 25, 1999. Thomas was a graduate of the University of Scranton and retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania after 22 years of clerical service. He was an accomplished poet and 64 of his poems have been published. He was a Dominican brother and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Thomas is survived by three sisters. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is assisting the family with arrangements.
