    3. My gt-gt-gt-grandfather was John Cranston (b c1793 - 1851), who lived and died in Castlecomer, Ireland. His sons were John, Matthew (my gt-gt-grandfather), and one another, possible Alexander. Matthew's youngest son was Walter Scott Cranston. Does the enquirer have any further background on the Irish origins of Walter James Cranston (m1877) and his parents John & Sarah Cranston?
