Cranston 91 of Heritage Village Health Care Center, Gerry, formerly of Stockton, died July 24, 2007 at the facility. Born October 21, 1915 in Dunkirk son of the late Claude and Helen Turk Cranston. A Chautauqua County resident all of his life he had attended Stockton schools. Louis was self-employed as a dairy farmer from 1942-1980. He was also employed from 1934-1942 as a truck driver, during WW II at Marlin Rockwell, 1950-1954 at Burnham Machine in Cassadaga, 1956-1976 in construction at various places throughout Chautauqua County. He was a former member of the Stockton-Centralia Grange, Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Club. Husband of 30 years to the late Alice H. Kelley Cranston who he married June 9, 1973 and died May 13, 2002 and his first wife Geneva Cranston (1971); Step-father of Pearl (Paul) Fuller of Arthur City, Texas, Charles (Pat) Brown of Jamestown, Dineen (James) Benson, Eileen (Roy) Love, Lowell Post all of Randolph, Maureen Mikula of Cassadaga, Lynn (Marcia) Post of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Laverne (June) Post of Valatie; Step-grandfather of Frank Johengen, Kate Bixby, Edward and Eric Benson, Erin, Kevin and Amber Post, Justin and Alicia Mikula; Great step grandfather of Riley Basile; Brother of Kenneth Cranston of Brocton, Owen Cranston of Stowe and the late Melvin Cranston and Lucille Blodgett also survived by two nephews. Memorials to Stockton VFD, PO Box 12, Stockton, NY 14784-0012.
