His brothers, Mark & Dale and him have a business in Vail, IA (Triple C Drywall). There is a daughter, Karen that my sister used to hang around also. Last I knew she lived in Carroll, IA. I saw John E (age 30) and Dorothy's name (age 26) on a 1940 census when i was searching for a family member and that is how i saw your post. You have to physically search it as it is not indexed yet but here is where i found it: 1940 United States Federal Census Iowa Audubon Co Audubon 5-9B page 16. According to a Crampton researcher living in Kent, England, there is a record of a Dence Crampton (that would fit our Dennis) from Cranbrook, Kent, I believe, with a birth/baptism record and no death record (an assunption that he left - to America??). I have no male Crampton in my line left, but it would be great if a guy in this line over here would do a DNA test and a Crampton over there would do one. I bet lots of Crampton researchers might chip in to help pay for it! I sure would! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He had a son John Crampton 1675-1746 who had a son James Crampton 1713-1782 who came from Litchfield Conn to Tinmouth, Vermont. He had a son Neri Cramton 1743-1827. Contact Gail Fowler, Town Clerk of Tinmouth Vermont to find if any additional info. Any idea who Dennis Crampton's parents were? Was he born in England? We are surmising so approx 1630, but can find no records of his birth or parentage, or where in England he may have been born. However, you will have no difficulty tracing a line back through the Fiennes family to 750 ad or so via: 1. Wikipedia Sir John Crampton 2nd Baronet 2. The tree given at the front of "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" by Sir Ranulph Fiennes 2009. The story of his ancestry. If you have not read it, they are your ancstors too, and you will be amazed! Tom.
