John Craig according to his sons census records say he was born in Va or Md ca 1775-1784 and he died in Grayson Co. 13 Dec 1847. He was married to Rachel Lahew b. ca 1772-1775 and died late 1863 or early 1864. I have heard the tradition in colonial times was the first son to be named after the paternal grandfather, the second after the maternal grandfather, and the third after the father. Their oldest son was Issac Craig born in Va in 1804. The second names William Spencer Craig [most records show only Spencer] was born ca 1812-1816 and died 30 Sept 1875. He was named after his grandfather William Lahue of Wythe Co., Va. The third son born 1817 and died after 1880 was named John Jr. after his father. Jphn and Rachel came to Ohio Co., Ky. ca 1808/1809, and this became Grayson Co in 1810. Is their a spare Issac Craig out there from Va, Md or Pa that is looking for a lost son John. Charles
