Rich: Authorities (?) on the Scottish Trivia List seem to think there is not and never has been an Amboy, Scotland. Archibald is my ancestor, too. I have to probably agree with several who have suggested that the Craigs came into port at Amboy, New Jersey which is very close to Freehold. Perhaps some researchers just saw Amboy and Scotland and went with it that way. That is the only reasonable explanation I have been able to come up with.
